Natal Journal (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use nataljournal.com, order a printed Natal Journal, or use the Natal mobile app (including app.nataljournal.com for Connection invites).
Our privacy promise
Your journal is private. We do not sell your personal information, share your journal entries with advertisers, or use your birth chart or writing to train public AI models. Entries you write in the Natal app are yours — never shared or sold.

Information we collect
Printed journal orders
When you create and purchase a Natal Journal on this website, we collect:
- Name — as you would like it printed on your journal
- Date of birth — used to calculate your natal chart
- Time of birth — if known; a noon chart is used when time is unknown
- Place of birth — city and country used for chart calculation
- Email address — for order confirmation and fulfillment communication
- Shipping address — collected at checkout so we can deliver your journal
Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
Natal app accounts
When you create an account in the Natal app, we collect:
- Email address — used for sign-in (email one-time code) and account recovery
- Name and birth data — date, optional time, and place of birth used to calculate your natal chart and personalized daily readings
- Chart data — the computed natal chart we store so we can show your placements and generate readings
- Journal entries — the text you write, plus tags for the day’s transit so features like Echo can resurface past writing for you alone
- Learn progress — which lessons you have completed
- Connections — guest charts you add or invite (name and birth data you or your guest provide)
- Push notification token and timezone — so we can send your daily reading at a local morning hour if you allow notifications
- Subscription status — whether Natal Plus is active, managed through Apple and RevenueCat; we do not receive your full payment card number
Connection invites (no account required for guests)
If someone shares an invite link with you, you may submit your name and birth data on a web page so they can see a compatibility comparison. That guest birth data is stored with their Connection record. You do not need a Natal account to complete an invite.
Website browsing
Our website uses browser local storage to temporarily hold cart details (name, birth data, and order information) while you complete checkout. This data stays on your device until you complete or clear your order. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Calculate natal charts and personalized daily readings, prompts, and Learn content
- Store and display your private journal entries back to you (including Echo matches)
- Power Connections and invite flows you choose to use
- Send optional daily push notifications and Connection-ready alerts
- Process Natal Plus subscriptions and restore purchases
- Print and fulfill physical journal orders, and send order/shipping updates
- Respond to customer support and account-deletion requests
- Keep the service secure and working (fraud prevention, abuse prevention, debugging)
We do not use your birth data or journal entries for advertising, sell them to third parties, or build marketing profiles from your writing.
Who helps us operate
We use trusted service providers that process data only to run Natal Journal:
- Stripe — payment processing for printed journals
- Resend — transactional email for order fulfillment
- Supabase — authentication and database for the Natal app
- RevenueCat / Apple — in-app subscriptions for Natal Plus
- Expo Push — delivery of push notifications you opt into
- Hosting providers (such as Vercel and Railway) — serving the website, invite pages, and API
When a printed order is completed, birth and shipping details needed for fulfillment are shared with our fulfillment team. Access is limited to people involved in producing and shipping your journal.
Journal privacy
Journal entries in the Natal app are private to your account. We do not publish them, share them with other users, or sell them. Features that reference past entries (such as Echo) only show your own writing back to you.
Data retention
Printed orders: we retain order and birth data only as long as needed to fulfill your order and provide customer support. We do not maintain ongoing marketing databases of customer birth charts after fulfillment.
Natal app: we retain your account, chart, journal, Connections, and related data while your account is active so the product can work. If you delete your account, we remove or anonymize personal data associated with it, subject to any limited records we must keep for legal, security, or accounting reasons (for example, subscription receipts held by Apple).
Your rights and choices
- Access & correction — email hello@nataljournal.com to request a copy of your data or corrections
- Delete account — you can delete your Natal app account in Settings, which permanently removes your profile, journal, and saved data from our systems
- Notifications — you can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time
- Subscriptions — manage or cancel Natal Plus through your Apple ID subscription settings
We will respond to privacy requests within a reasonable timeframe.
What we don’t do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information
- We do not share birth data or journal entries with advertisers or data brokers
- We do not use your chart data or journal text to train public AI models or create unrelated products
Children’s privacy
Natal Journal and the Natal app are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 without parental consent.
International users
We may process and store information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using Natal Journal, you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our site or app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
